The Brief

Our friends at Wooshii commissioned us to lead post-production for a CTV and social campaign for Toronto-based luxury retail boutique, The Rest. The campaign aimed to raise brand awareness and drive foot traffic to their Yorkdale Shopping Centre location.

We worked on this project alongside the Silk & Snow campaign, running both simultaneously and collaborating with the same director on two distinct creative briefs. The Rest is a luxury sub-brand of Sleep Country, offering a single high-end retail experience at Yorkdale Mall. The goal was to highlight both the in-store experience and the craftsmanship behind its premium bedding products.

The campaign required a brand film featuring an elegant actress waking up in her new bedding, whilst also integrating footage from a previous craftsmanship video and new shots of the retail space. Our job was to tie these elements together into a visually compelling story that embodied the brand’s premium aesthetic.

The Edit

With only 10 days to deliver the final edit, we used stock footage and placeholders to refine pacing, voiceover, and music selection ahead of time while we waited for the footage.

As soon as shooting wrapped, proxies were delivered by our Toronto team, followed quickly by high-resolution files. This efficient workflow allowed for early approvals, ensuring a smooth post-production process.

The edit needed to balance the soft, ethereal quality of the new footage with the functional visuals of the store and previous brand content. We used lens flares, camera tracking, match cuts and frame blending to unify the new footage with the older assets. A standout moment was a transition through opening curtains into the store, achieved via rotoscoping and motion tracking, creating a striking reveal for the final call to action.

The Results

The final edit successfully captured the luxurious essence of The Rest, enhancing brand awareness and inviting customers to experience it in person.

In total, we created fourteen deliverables for this campaign: 6s, 15s, and 30s cuts across multiple aspect ratios (1×1, 4×5, 9×16, 16×9) for social media and connected TV.
