In this post, we’ll share our experience managing an exciting PayPal Customer Stories Sydney Shoot. This project involved creating engaging videos to help Australian customers understand how to use, move, and manage their money with PayPal. From finding the perfect locations to working with an international crew, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how we brought this vision to life.
What was the project?
The PayPal Customer Stories Sydney project aimed to create engaging videos for Australian customers to showcase their experiences with PayPal.. The project, based on an existing US series, featured real PayPal users in authentic settings, sharing their experiences with PayPal products.
How did we get the project?
Securing the PayPal Customer Stories Sydney project involved submitting a detailed pitch to PayPal, demonstrating our logistics plan and local contacts. After winning the pitch, we briefly celebrated before diving into pre-production.
How did we start this project?
We began by finding ideal locations for the PayPal Customer Stories Sydney shoot that matched the customers’ personalities and the project’s narrative. These locations needed to match the customers’ personalities and the story we wanted to tell. We used Peerspace, Tag Venue, and A Perfect Space to identify and submit potential options to PayPal for approval.
Once approved, we conducted location recce visits to assess suitability. This crucial step ensured that the locations were not only visually appealing but also practical, with good lighting, ample space, and necessary power outlets.
We styled each location to match the customers’ stories, incorporating PayPal’s branding colours. Our stylist worked closely with customers to select outfits that reflected their personalities and suited their locations.

Working with crew overseas
Working with an overseas crew presented challenges, particularly due to the 9-hour time difference between the UK and Sydney. Through effective planning and clear communication, we supported our team and ensured all tasks were completed before filming.
What production was like
A few members of our UK production team traveled to Sydney for a week of filming. Thanks to our thorough pre-production work and the exceptional efforts of our Sydney team, the shoots were highly successful. We ensured the crew understood daily expectations and schedules, allowing for a smooth filming process.
